SHOW UP FOR MENTAL HEALTH. Donate today.

Spud’s Game is more than a footy match — it’s a movement to change the game on mental health. Inspired by the legacy of Danny “Spud” Frawley, this annual event brings the AFL community together to spark life-saving conversations and break the stigma around mental ill-health.

Every year, we rally behind a simple truth: no one should carry the weight of mental struggle alone. Funds raised through Spud’s Game power vital mental fitness programs, education, and support services across grassroots clubs, schools, and communities.

Together, we can turn the roar of the crowd into real-world impact.

Danny Frawley was an advocate for many great things. A good laugh and time with mates were undoubtedly among them, but getting on the front foot when the going got tough was what he was most passionate about.

In 2021 , the St Kilda Football club hosted its first-ever Spud’s Game - a tribute match in honour of our late, great, mate.

Four years later, it has grown into an annual marquee match, aimed at raising much needed funds for mental health programs and research for the Danny Frawley Centre at the Black Dog Institute.

supporting Mental Health Programs and Research

Your donation will create impact and change.

Mental ill health affects 1 in 5 Australians each year - and we’re working to change that through prevention, education, and evidence-based solutions.

Your donation will help expand mental health and wellbeing programs and initiatives delivered by the Danny Frawley Centre at Black Dog Institute. Together, we’ll reach more communities with the tools, skills and knowledge to support better mental health for all.

No matter the amount, your donation will help ensure support reaches those who need it most and drive research that transforms how we prevent mental ill health.

All donations over $2 to Danny Frawley Centre at Black Dog Institute are tax-deductible.
